1, Write a canon at the unison (or octave) To do this, write an original idea about one measurelong. Copy that into the second part, measure 2 and continue the first part sothat it 'goes' with the repeated first measure. Continue this process. Makesure that, as you add measures, they make sense both vertically (harmonically)andhorizontally(melodically)with what has come before. You may use any"scale" or lack thereof.
2, Write a second canon-this time with the second voice coming in at the interval of the fourth.
3, Write a third canon,this time with both voices starting at the same time, but the lower voicemoving at exactly half the speed of the upper.
